A picture for every hour in My day
This is a glimpse into my day.
My intent was to take a picture on the hour all day. Turns out even when you are trying your all it’s hard to remember to keep your camera with you at all times. I started the day with my camera but decided to show myself some grace and continue with my phone camera. It was fun to take a moment at each hour to look for the beauty or the interesting but alas there are several points of my day that were spent in meetings.
Here’s a peek into my Tuesday.
7am
Making lunch for the girls. I used bento boxes because I find it much more satisfying to fill the compartments than filing ziplock bags. I always get stuck right around this point. When the food that both of my children like to eat stops and I have to figure out what to finish filling this box up within as little time as possible because we are always in a hurry in the morning.
8am
Picture days are busier than usual for teachers. So, it can’t hurt to bring something for them to look forward to. These are the cheese horns that I went with from our local and aptly named, Heavenly Bakery.
9am
School picture day is in full swing. I was able to make a quick story in between groups. I didn’t get a picture of anything so this is a screen cap from a short video I made for my stories.
10am
I’m out on the playground of this preschool waiting for the kids to come outside for a class picture. I was standing in a little grove of trees looking at a space that looks kind of bare looks so completely different when the kids come out and play in this space.
11am
There was the most brilliantly colored orange butterfly flitting around these flowers on my walk downtown to get lunch. You’ll have to take my word for it.
12pm
All set up and ready for a newborn and his family to come in.
1pm
This little guy is all tucked in and ready to go home.
2pm
Little time editing before school pick-up. Mike is in the studio with me today working.
3pm
This face telling me how neglected he has felt with no human home all day.
4pm
Looking at my ceiling. Laying down for just a few more minutes.
5pm
When trees are starting to lose their leaves these trees blossom downtown. They are just so beautiful.
6pm
At a listening session for artists to share their thoughts on the state of the arts in our county.
7pm
Leaving downtown for the day and took this with my phone while I was crossing the street. I love downtown at night.
8pm
Another meeting. The kids’ school parent club - first one of the year.
or the third year in a row, a parent has reached out to me looking for something different than the pictures that were taken way back in August at hollister high school. Right off the bat, I want to say that you can not compare volume photography - the back to back ones that happen at school - to an individual portrait session that I provide.
The two experiences are just not the same.
